A podcast about two friends who aren’t video game industry veterans…but want to be.
A Tale of Two Game Devs is a game dev/slice-of-life podcast, running (almost) weekly since August 2018, by Milo Kent-Pettit and myself. On the show, we talk about updates in our lives, our progress on games we’re developing, and what we think about the games we’ve been playing lately. As two game developers, we end up talking a lot about games, design ideas, and industry happenings from a developer’s perspective, often going off the deep end into philosophical discussions about how we view design, play, and the world it affects.
Milo and I first started making this show in the late summer of 2018, when Milo was about to leave Minneapolis, where we met, to study game design at DigiPen Institute of Technology. Since we were great friends, I was trying to think of some interesting way to keep in touch with him when he left the state; additionally, I’d been listening to a lot of podcasts lately, and I thought it would be fun to make one. I figured it would be even more fun to make one with one of my best friends, so I proposed the idea of a game dev show to him, and he loved it - so we began the show right before he left, and the rest is history. Each week, I look forward to catching up to Milo and having a lively discussion of games, and I hope that others enjoy it too!
